Getting Started

Hello Old South!  It is my privilege and honour to have been elected to represent our neighbourhood. Ward 11 also includes other great neighbourhoods such as Manor Park, Highland Park, Kensal Park, Southcrest and Berkshire. 

It’s been a busy time since election day getting oriented to the new job and I can tell I’m really going to enjoy working with you.  I’ve really valued getting to talk with so many of our neighbours over the past 6 months during the municipal election campaign and I want to keep those conversations going. 

We have some exciting things happening at City Hall and I want you to be a part of them. In the next few months alone, we’ll be developing our strategic plan, working on the 2015 municipal budget and finalizing the rewrite of the City’s Official Plan – also known as the London Plan. These three items will play significant roles in charting our course for this council term and beyond so it’s very important that we get it right.  Over 10,000 Londoners got involved in creating the London Plan, making it the largest public participation exercise of its kind in Canada.  I hope you’ll get involved with the budget and our strategic plan, too. 

During this term of council, I will be reaching out to hear from you.  My goal is to have open community meetings every three months to discuss both local and city-wide issues.  I will post and discuss ideas on social media including on my website, Facebook page and on Twitter.  I will be accessible by email and phone.  I will spend time knocking on doors, too.  And if I’ve missed a way of getting in touch or being accessible, let me know (I’m trying to cover all the bases!).  I’m looking forward to the task ahead and working hard for our community.
